Cloth Diapers.

I have been meaning to do a post about this for a while now.
I have been cloth diapering for almost two months now and I have to say I am impressed.

Most people that know think I am
absolutely out of my mind.
I'm not. :)

I have to admit, I got into them because
I wanted to add another something green in my life. When I found out, before Hazy was even born, that it takes a diaper between 300-500 YEARS to decompose I seriously wanted to
throw-up just thinking of how many diapers are taking over the world!! haha I know that sounds dramatic but o well.

the diapers I chose are
gDiapers.
I seriously LOVE them.
there is more info on them in a post I did while I was prego here.

or if you are seriously interested COME OVER! I will show you,
it's a piece of cake!

Other than an extra load of laundry every few days and maybe a minute more at diaper changes that is all that has changed.
NO my house doesn't smell like poo, and better yet because most of it gets flushed my GARAGE doesn't smell like it now either! win.

Hazy obviously loves them too :)

We don't take them when we travel for more than a day or so purely out of convenience.
And don't worry, if she goes to a babysitter
I do send her in a NORMAL diaper.

I definitely don't judge ANYONE who chooses to go the disposable route but I do
feel good about my decision.
And who doesn't LOVE saving $50 or so a month on Diapers!?!

So I left a comment on your other post about G Diapers then realized you probably wouldnt see it :). How do you save money on diapers when you have to buy the disposable inserts for these? My little girl is coming in a short 4 1/2 weeks and maybe I'll "go green" too :)

Kris!! I can't believe she'll be here in a month! Ok, I actually use the cloth option for this diaper, I only use the disposable on occasion, if we go run errands or sometimes overnight. And I got them super cheap on ksl so there are ways to use them cheap but honestly I prefer the cloth. That's what got me interested in these diapers in the first place but when I realized I could actually save money by using their cloth inserts, I jumped on the wagon :)
They have great deals on diapers.com and on babiesrus and I have coupons as well so if your serious about it let me know and I'll help you get started!! Can't wait to see her!

My cousin loves her gDiapers! She also loves the diapers she made herself out of an excess of flannel baby blankets from showers! Ha ha. I am totally doing this when I have kids and I hope you'll be a good resource for advice! Love you.

Thanks girl. I have to admit I'm a little afraid of cloth diapers though-- aren't they pretty nasty to clean out? I would be worried about them ruining my washing machine or something haha...gross! Did you feel that way before you started using them? I bet its probably not as bad as I imagine...I would love to go the cheap route if I could stand it!

Ya I was scared... She was 5 months old when I finally started but it really really isn't any grosser than changing a regular diaper. I have a diaper sprayer, it's like one of those speakers in your kitchen sink but it's hooked to my toilet. So if it's a poopy diaper I just spray it off into the toilet and then put it in a zippered waterproof bag. I swear it doesn't stink! If it's not I just put the cloth in the bag without rinsing it off. Simple. I did a lot of research because there are so many different kinds to choose from, and I know it sounds dorky but I watched alot of you tube videos on gdiapers and cloth diapering. It will cost about 200-$300 to get started but we were spending at least $50 + a month on diapers so it will quickly pay off :) call me or facebook me if you have any other questions!
